HINO - Contessa (PD) - 1964

Eis uma marca que penso ser pouco conhecida na Europa sobretudo em viaturas ligeiras . Penso que existiu ou existe um modelo pesado da Toyota com este nome . No Japão esta marca fabrica e comercializa os modelos comerciais da Toyota , da Dyna para cima , mas sob a marca HINO . Em meados dos anos 60 esta marca , depois de nos anos 50 ter fabricado e comercializado sob licença Renault o modelo 4CV , apresentou o seu primeiro  ( e penso eu único ) modelo de ligeiros , o HINO CONTESSA 1300 .

  Hino é uma das submarcas da Toyota, neste caso dedicada a viaturas pesadas e agora pasmem-se... ao contrário do que diz a Fiat diz e os pouco profissionais jornalistas portugueses afirmam... A INVENTORA DOS MOTORES COMMON RAIL FOI: TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION há vários anos atrás em motores montados precisamente na Hino.

Por acaso quem desenvolveu a tecnologia Common-rail foi a Denso (Nippondenso) Mas claro, a Denso é uma marca da Toyota http://www.deephousepage.com/smilies/gap.gif ALT=":[upss]">

A Fiat foi a primeira marca a comercializar um automóvel com esta tecnologia e por isso gaba-se de ser o "inventor" do common-rail o que está completamente errado.

Se não estou em erro a Denso serve como laboratório de desenvolvimento e pesquisa para todo o grupo Toyota. Tem o recorde do mais pequeno carro de combustão interna do mundo. Além disso está também ligada ao desporto automóvel no JGTC! O TF105 também tem o logo da Denso mas não sei se contribui para a construção do carro ou está lá só por publicidade/patrocínios.

Eu tenho (algures) uma excelente apresentação em Power Point feita pelo Dr. João Monteiro sobre a história dos Diesel e a importância da Toyota nesses motores. Não sei se ele é membro deste forum, se for, era porreiro se partilhasse essa .pps com a malta! Se não for membro eu posso partilhar com vocês. Tenho é que lhe pedir autorização primeiro.

Fall of 1964,, Hino Motors, Ltd. (hereafter, Hino) announced new model car "Contessa 1300" with Tokyo motor show as before. It has aimed at not only a Japanese market but the world market with the technology of the car engineering of the rational rear engine architecture since the domestic production of the French Renault during postwar restoration and rapid growth and the sprit of "GAS-DEN DAMASHII" (the way of Gas electric, the spirit of former company of Hino) since Tokyo Gas electricity industrial of pre-world war II under the basis of grand entrepreneurship.

Japan was the time which people committed violently intently aiming at development of Japan, development of a company, and improvement in a life as a process to a subsequent economic big power in 1950 to the 60s. In the meantime, aiming at the industrial establishment of a state, introduction of technological know-hows, technical cooperation, and many policys for protecting Japan's growth from foreign funding further were given from many foreign countries at an early stage. Trade liberalization, capital liberalization, etc. promote free competition in such environment, and it was also what obstructs it simultaneously. Not only Japan but many outstanding industrial products evaluated globally were produced in that time. However, there was also a thing with the fate which cannot but disappear without dominating a market against a developer's romance. Isn't Contessa 1300 one of them, either?

Old car enthusiast is easy to fall, to such as superiority of design of the love car which is owned or superiority of mechanism to have interest in the part where simply it touches the eye. Although it does not deny by it, if it sees in contact with a car through the thick thought of a maker, a developer, and the persons concerned as romance with considering the cultural background and ecomonocal environment which the past car has had. Especially to Hino Contessa 1300, I think that the fatal portion would be in the life and death in the history of development of the auto industry of Japan. This series investigates what thing this was.

1964 September, Hino Motors, Ltd. (hereafter Hino) produced long-awaited small-sized car Contessa 1300 that is able to export to the world market even in Western society of car advanced nation with self-confidence. That was dream from the time of Hino's establishment which cultivates "An ism of Hoshiko". This section will describe mentioning the history of Hino's effort of the small-sized car toward Contessa. That was the encounter with wonderful people around hino.

The public announcement and sales of Contessa 1300 was in 1964 September, but Hino Motors, Ltd. (hereafter Hino) has been decided the basic design regarding Contessa 1300 in May,1961, then, in August, the overall requirment specification was sent to Michelotti which requests the body design. And the same time, the development of the new engine had already started. It was the technical challenge or war about the issue of the heat against the cooling as the engineer because of the big engine scaled up based on Contessa 900 as the rear engine.
